Hematite, the natural metal of beading

Steel grey, heavy, with a mirror-like shine, hematite looks like a metal while still being a stone: it is the ideal spacer to punctuate a stone bracelet without adding metal. Choosing your spacers

Check the diameter of the hole (1 mm to fit the elastic of 8 mm bracelets), the consistency of the size and the durability of the finish on coloured versions (the gold or silver plating must withstand friction). Hematite is heavy: three or four spacers per bracelet are enough to keep a pleasant weight.

A hematite bead between two stone beads is the simplest signature of men's bracelets: tiger's eye and hematite, onyx and hematite, lava and hematite.
