Septarian Wholesale: Polished Blocks, Tumbled Stones and Freeforms
The Stone with Calcite Cells
Brown, grey and yellow, divided into cells by a network of golden calcite veins, septarian is a sedimentary concretion formed millions of years ago in seabed mud, when cracks in clay nodules filled with minerals. Each piece displays a unique pattern, reminiscent of a tortoise shell or a map. Cut into tumbled stones, freeforms, spheres and hearts, it comes mainly from Madagascar. Arabesk offers a selection of pieces, each individually photographed.
Choosing Your Pieces
A septarian stone is judged on the contrast and sharpness of its cells, the proportion of golden calcite and the polish. Flat tumbled stones and freeforms of 5 to 8 cm are the best sellers; spheres display the pattern on every face. As each piece is unique, the photo on the product page shows the exact item you will receive.
What Works in Store
Septarian draws attention with its pattern: place it within easy reach, next to labradorite, serpentine and blue calcite in the polished stone blocks section. Tumbled septarian stones extend the sale in a smaller format.
