Chakras are centers of subtle energy in the human body according to certain spiritual and philosophical traditions, particularly in the teachings of Hinduism and Buddhism. The word “chakra” comes from Sanskrit and means “wheel” or “disc”. These chakras are believed to be energy points located along the spine, from the base of the spine to the top of the head. There are generally seven main chakras, each associated with a specific color and physical, emotional and spiritual aspects.
