Choosing your findings

A finding is judged by how well it stands the test of time: nickel-free metal that won't tarnish, stainless steel for the most heavily used clasps, reinforced elastic for bracelets made with heavy beads. Check the compatibility of diameters (bead hole size, thread or cord thickness) and stock the basics in quantity: lobster clasps, open jump rings, bails, ready-to-wear cords of 45 to 50 cm. Spacer beads (metal beads, discs, symbols) give bracelets their signature look.
