Red jasper, the stone of endurance
The best-known variety of the jasper family, red jasper is an opaque chalcedony colored by hematite, ranging from brick red to deep red, sometimes veined with black or white. Lithotherapy tradition considers it the stone of grounding, endurance and vitality (root chakra), highly sought after by athletes and for coping with periods of fatigue. Hardness 6.5 to 7: it withstands water and daily wear without special care.
Choosing the right quality
Red jasper is judged by the uniformity and depth of its red color and the quality of its polish; stones heavily veined with gray are graded as A quality. India, South Africa and Brazil are the reference deposits; Arabesk sources mainly from India and sorts bead lots to ensure consistent bracelets.
What sells in stores
Tumbled stones for grounding baskets, 6 to 8 mm beaded strands, bracelets (the classic "root" trio with hematite and obsidian), pendants and rough stones. It complements a "warm stones" range alongside carnelian and garnet.
