Tourmaline, a stone of every color
Tourmaline is a family of silicates found in almost every color: pink to red rubellite, green verdelite, blue indicolite, watermelon tourmaline (pink core ringed with green) and multicolor crystals. Black tourmaline (schorl), by far the most sought-after, has its own dedicated page. Crystal healing tradition links pink to the heart and gentleness, green to vitality, and watermelon to emotional balance. Hardness 7 to 7.5: durable, suitable for jewelry worn every day.
Choosing your quality
A colored tourmaline is judged by its saturation and transparency: clear stones are jewelry-grade gems, while translucent to opaque stones, more affordable, are used for tumbled stones and bracelets.
