Picture jasper, a desert in stone
A variety of beige, sand and brown jasper with bands and patterns that evoke dunes, cliffs or aerial landscapes, picture jasper comes mainly from South Africa and the United States. Crystal healing tradition regards it as the stone of grounding, connection to the earth and stability, often recommended for meditation. Hardness 6.5 to 7: it withstands water and daily wear.
Choosing your quality
Picture jasper is judged by the sharpness and contrast of its patterns: well-defined bands and “horizons” signal AA quality, while a blurrier design indicates A quality, perfectly suitable in bulk. As each stone is unique, spheres and polished pieces are chosen one by one. Arabesk sorts bead batches so bracelets keep harmonious tones.
