Natural shell ideal for burning sage leaves and incense.
The South African abalone shell stands out for its deep mother-of-pearl with iridescent reflections. In Native American traditions, it represents the Water element and completes the four elements of the smudging ritual: sage (Earth), flame (Fire), and smoke (Air). Each piece is natural and unique.
Usage: place the burning smudge stick or loose herbs on sand or charcoal, then let the shell collect ashes and embers. It is also used to extinguish the smudge stick at the end of the ritual.
